Mike Wallace - Theme & Beat 03
I am a public school teacher here in NYC, and as soon as the last school bell rings, I get a few months to shut off my brain and get some rest. We spent our summer traveling and camping and fishing all over Washington, Oregon and California with friends and family, then headed to Oslo, Norway for a few days and did the most incredible drive of my life to Bergen. We ended our trip with a week in Paris just after the Olympics ended.
Sigh... I can not complain that we are back to work now, but it’s always difficult to get my mind back in the zone coming back to crazy ass New York after being in the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen in Norway. Anyways....
🌋 Mike Wallace - Theme & Beat 03 vinyl: Friday Sept. 20 🌋
The conclusion to the Theme & Beat series leaves us with more luxurious sweeping, dense and colorful sounds reminiscent of some of Mike's biggest influences over 20+ years of hardcore and passionate collecting of the world's rarest and deepest sounds from library music, soundtracks, "rare groove", funk, jazz, etc. With lovely artwork by Ohmega Watts, and super pro design by Mike Schofield aka Elektro4, the packaging and feel are superb. We could not be more excited to cast this final part of the series off to you all. The response to all three volumes has been tremendous, and we are all humbled over here by how they have been received.
The record will be available on our SHOP in the early AM, EST on Sept. 20th.
I will shoot this email list an update with an exact time that it will go live. 250 were pressed, and 50 are being distributed through Europe and Japan by our pals at Hum Records in Zurich. www.humrecords.ch
Hum will be handling our European shipping again. I realize this doesn’t really help those who are not a part of the EU. The folks at Hum are old friends who I have known for over 20 years and I enjoy working with them, and they are pro at what they do. Copies should also be available at Juno, HHV, and Jet Set in Japan. We will offer up a few test pressings on Friday as well.
After the last release, I got an insane amount of additional emails asking if I could add extra records or shirts from the site to combine shipping with orders, because a lot of you were rushing through the ordering process to make sure you secured the sale before these sold out. If you plan on combining orders or want something else to add to your order, please hit me beforehand at potionsmusicnyc@gmail.com to let me know what you want and I can shoot you a total!
Sneak peak:
Also, in case you haven’t heard or copped them yet, there are currently less than 10 copies left of Gerald Bailey’s “Migration Climate” and Anzola “Typical EP” (only 100 copies pressed). These will never be repressed. We also just made some new 5-panel hats.
New record by Gerald on it’s way as well....
